Phony Hawk: Faux Skater
A small 3D skateboarding game in the browser. It has four themed parks, a grindable edge on every flat surface, combo multipliers, a cop who can't catch you in the air, and a synthesized ska-punk soundtrack.
An arcade skateboarding game built with Babylon.js and Kenney’s CC0 “Mini” model packs. You have a timer and a target score, and you get there with coins, air, spins and grinds, chaining tricks into a combo multiplier before the window closes. The trick names run from real (50-50, Indy Grab) to not (Soggy Waffle, 720 Gravy Tornado, Nollie (citation needed)).

Levels
| Level | Built from | Hidden skater |
|---|---|---|
| Skatepark | bowl, mini half-pipe, stair set, street plaza | Wheels (a deluxe wheelchair) |
| Arcade | rows of arcade machines | Chad Muskrat |
| Supermarket | aisles, shelves, carts | Rodney Mullet |
| Dungeon | columns, crates, chests, stone stairs | Bam Vampera |
You unlock a hidden skater by grinding them. You turn into them for the rest of the run, and they stay selectable after that.
What’s interesting
- Every edge grinds. Grind lines aren’t placed by hand. They’re pulled from the level geometry: the topmost horizontal edges of stairs, ledges, pallets, barrels and the bowl’s coping.
- Park security. A few seconds in, a cop starts chasing you. If he tags you on the ground you’re busted, which costs you the combo and a 300-point fine. He can’t touch you in the air or on a rail.
- Instant replay. Every frame of your pose is recorded. When the run ends, your best combo replays in slow motion from several camera angles, with ducked music and a freeze-frame on the biggest trick.
- No audio files. The 168 BPM ska-punk loop and all the sound effects (wheel roll, grind, ollie pop, landing, coins) are synthesized with the Web Audio API.
- Procedural graffiti is drawn into dynamic textures on the walls.
It plays with a keyboard or with touch: a virtual joystick on the left half of the screen and an ollie button on the right.
